Nineteen of the Russian's 21 titles have been won on hard surfaces

A revitalized the Russian player secured his initial title for 882 days with victory over Corentin Moutet in the tournament championship match.

Medvedev, a ex- top-ranked player, has experienced a challenging period, achieving just one match at the Grand Slams and undergoing a meltdown at the US Open.

His varied form on the ATP Tour - and difficulties with his serving in specific - caused him dropping out of the elite rankings and ultimately parting ways with former mentor his previous coach.

Now collaborating with his coach and Rohan Goetzke, he has steadily advanced in the past month - culminating in a hard-fought 7-5 4-6 6-3 win over challenger Moutet.

This marks the player's maiden title after the Italian tournament and initial on a hardcourt since March of the previous year.

The win also means the Russian has achieved 21 victories at twenty-one various tournaments.

"It's the first time I'm at a event with my children simultaneously, so to secure a championship is especially meaningful," stated ranked player the champion.

"This victory is in tribute of my second daughter Victoria, because the first title I achieved when my older daughter my daughter was born was for her."

Medvedev, the 2021 US Open champion, had lost his last six championship matches, including in that event in the past months.

Medvedev's counter-punching strategy and regular emotional displays on the tennis court had prompted observers to wonder if his ability to play at the elite level was concluded.

But the 29-year-old has implemented adjustments in the last few weeks, making an effort to advance forward and compete aggressively, reinforced by an improved serve.

He recovered from a deficit in the first set against the difficult Moutet, taking 4 of the concluding five games to take the lead.

The pair exchanged service breaks in the second set before the Frenchman, attempting for his initial tour championship, took control to create a final set.

The opponent saved 4 early break points in a close third set before the Russian broke to that score to close out the victory.

Fittingly, Medvedev earned the win with a rally at the front of the court, with Moutet failing to handle a return after two hours and 38 minutes.
